Junior Data Engineer (Healthcare Data Operations)
Segmed is a fast-growing startup revolutionizing healthcare research by building a secure medical imaging data platform. We seek a junior Data Engineer to help scale data operations, focusing on data integrity, compliance, and quality within healthcare datasets.
Skills
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Familiarity with bash, Git, and data wrangling techniques
- Comfort or interest in working with healthcare data types such as DICOM, ECG, video, pathology
- Strong attention to detail especially when handling sensitive and regulated data
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment
- Effective communication and collaboration with technical and non-technical team members
Responsibilities
- Operate and support internal data workflows using various tools and platforms
- Monitor and improve data operation pipelines, debug and resolve data issues proactively
- Collaborate with clinical, engineering, product, and commercial teams to support project delivery
- Perform quality checks and assist in de-identification efforts ensuring patient privacy
- Follow and reinforce compliance policies and data security protocols
- Manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities in a dynamic startup environment
Education
- Relevant educational background in Computer Science, Data Science, IT, or related fields preferred but not strictly required
