Senior Manager, Product Design (Remote - US) - job 1 of 4

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Niche. We are currently looking for a Senior Manager, Product Design in United States.

As a Senior Manager of Product Design, you will lead a talented team of designers focused on shaping the user experience for millions of students and families navigating the school search journey. Your work will directly influence critical touchpoints that drive traffic growth, lead generation, account creation, and partner school success. You will oversee design strategy across multiple surfaces and channels—web, mobile, email, and internal tools—while mentoring and growing a diverse design team. This is an opportunity to help transform an established business through design leadership, bringing clarity, cohesion, and user-centered thinking to complex systems. You will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and GTM teams to deliver innovative, AI-driven product experiences with measurable business impact.

Accountabilities

  • Lead and inspire two product design teams working across multiple pods in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Shape design strategy both on- and off-platform, including SEO, lifecycle email, and SMS campaigns.
  • Oversee how student leads are generated, packaged, and sold while building internal tools that support customer-facing teams and drive revenue.
  • Ensure design efforts across teams align into cohesive, high-quality product experiences — from design system details to overarching user workflows.
  • Mentor and develop design talent, fostering an environment of growth, creativity, and operational excellence.
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships with Product and Engineering teams, driving joint ownership and seamless collaboration.
  • Define and execute the design vision and roadmap for your domain, aligning design outcomes with broader business strategy and user needs.
  • Lead strategic initiatives from conception to launch, demonstrating impact on acquisition, engagement, and revenue generation.
  • 10+ years of experience in product design, including 3+ years in a leadership role managing and scaling design teams.
  • Proven success connecting design strategy to measurable business outcomes, particularly in content-heavy, search/discovery, or acquisition-driven products.
  • Experience shaping AI-first product experiences, ideally including LLM-powered features.
  • Strong collaboration skills with Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams; adept at shepherding launches across the finish line.
  • Exceptional design craftsmanship and systems thinking; able to uphold high standards across multiple surfaces and channels.
  • Strong understanding of user motivations and barriers, especially in education or similarly complex domains (edtech experience is a plus but not required).
  • Bonus points for experience with multi-sided marketplaces, SaaS platforms with heavy content/data, or products designed for Gen Z/Alpha audiences.

  • Competitive national base salary range of approximately $148,000–$185,000, plus eligibility for annual bonus and stock options.
  • Fully flexible remote-first work model, with the option to work from a central office or hybrid.
  • 100% employer-paid health insurance, including vision and dental coverage.
  • Flexible Paid Time Off policy and 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave for all employees.
  • Employer-matched 401(k) plan and generous home office setup stipend.
  • Opportunities to attend in-person collaboration and team-building events 2–4 times per year.
  • An environment that values work-life balance, innovation, and employee well-being, with room to make a real impact from day one.
