We are continuously developing new answers for rail automation – often to questions that haven’t been asked yet.Position Overview:Siemens Mobility Inc., Rolling Stock Division produces light rail vehicles, electric and diesel locomotives, and passenger coaches. Planner / Supplier Order Management Specialist is a key member of the Order Management team and manages the critical and complex suppliers to ensure on time delivery of open purchase orders to support production demand.What your day-to-day may look like:• Ensure continuous supply of materials and address any supply issues that may impact business operations.• Analyze purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness.• Expedite the approval process for urgent orders.• Review replenishment reports daily.• Resolve price, delivery, or invoice issues with suppliers.• Collaborate with various departments to address demand requirements.• Lead purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning, sourcing, and engineering to solve material supply issues.• Communicate between departments to allocate excess materials to projects.• Ensure compliance with company guidelines, purchasing policies, and procedures.To thrive in this role, you will have:• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (business, manufacturing, or engineering) preferred.• Minimum of 5 years of procurement or supply chain management experience in a manufacturing environment, with experience managing supply chains with sole suppliers.• Proficient in SAP and highly proficient in MS Excel; well-versed in other MS Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).• Strong negotiating skills.• Experience in an engineer-to-order manufacturing environment.Preferred knowledge and experience:• Strong technical knowledge in procurement, inventory control, and process control.• Results-oriented with the ability to plan and meet project deadlines, tenacious and assertive in driving solutions.• Skilled in evaluating and monitoring supplier capacity, with proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.• Excellent written and oral communication skills; adept at building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.• Keen attention to detail and accuracy, with experience in ISO 9000 (TS16949 and AS9100 a plus).Why you'll love working for Siemens!• Freedom and healthy work-life balance– Health, Dental, Vision Insurance, HSA/FSA, Commuter Benefits – starting Day 1!• Solve the world's most significant problems – Be part of exciting and innovative projects.• Engaging, challenging, and fast evolving, pioneering technological environment.• Competitive total rewards package.• Opportunities to contribute your innovative ideas and get paid for them! This position is eligible for overtime.
