Senior Software Engineer - Observability and Reliability

Sigma Computing is a leading cloud analytics and business intelligence company focused on making data accessible through innovative, spreadsheet-like interfaces. They seek a Senior Software Engineer specializing in observability and reliability to build tools and platforms ensuring uptime and performance of their cloud services.

Skills

Strong computer science fundamentals
5+ years of building and maintaining high-quality software
Product mindset towards infrastructure systems
Experience with Go and Kubernetes
Knowledge in observability toolsets and platforms

Responsibilities

Build observability tools and platforms including metrics, logging, distributed tracing, dashboarding, alerting, and application performance management
Develop with technologies such as Go, Open Telemetry, and Kubernetes
Participate in on-call rotations to ensure service uptime
Create runtime tools/processes to optimize cloud triaging and reduce downtime
Define and enforce best practices for making systems and services measurable
Collaborate with peers and stakeholders through design and code reviews

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (implied)
