What you will be doing

As a TypeScript Engineer, you’ll help build the brains behind a cutting-edge web application that transforms how people interact with the web. We’re AI-first, which means the majority of our code by volume is written by AI, with skilled human developers steering the wheel. We lean hard into agentic technologies like Cursor, Windsurf, and MCP to code faster and smarter than most people consider reasonable.

You’ll be working on ambitious projects that push the limits of what’s possible in a browser, like:

  • Simulate human behavior when using the web (like Operator, but with human foibles)

  • AI-powered analysis of webpages, e.g. quality of writing, accessibility, user experience

  • Large-scale distributed services: crawlers, social-media analyzers

You’ll be trusted to own features end-to-end, from architecture through to deployment, and help shape how we build intelligent, scalable software.

Where you will be working

We’re currently looking for an Austin-based resident for this hybrid-based role.

You will be working from our office in Downtown Austin at least 3 days per week.

You should join us if

  • You are a US citizen or hold a legal work permit or Green Card, since Silktide does not sponsor work permits for this position

  • You are fluent in English

  • You have strong proficiency with:

    • TypeScript or JavaScript

    • Cursor / Windsurf / Lovable or equivalent

  • Any experience in these areas is also a huge plus:

    • Distributed backend development (APIs, microservices)

    • Modern AI technologies (vector databases, LLMs)

    • Cloud computing (Kubernetes, AWS)

    • Databases (MySQL, Redis)

  • You are passionate, hungry, and eager to make a name for yourself

  • You possess strong problem-solving skills

  • You have a passion for AI and emerging technologies

  • You have the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team

  • You ideally have a valid passport

You should not join us if:

  • You shy away from fast-paced environments

  • You are worried about telling your boss they are wrong

  • You need someone to tell you exactly what to do

What you will get in return

  • A shiny new MacBook and any peripherals you need to be successful

  • Paid 24/7 parking

  • Wellness Allowance

  • Comprehensive Private Insurance (Health, Dental & Vision)

  • 401(k)
