About the Role: 

Reporting directly to the Senior Clinical Research Scientist, you'll play a pivotal role in our R&D efforts by advancing novel research candidates and executing clinical biomarker studies. As a key member of our dynamic research team, you'll contribute to groundbreaking discoveries and help shape the future of metabolic disease treatment. Through innovative research approaches and collaboration with cross-functional teams, you'll help drive our mission to revolutionize the treatment of metabolic disorders. 
 
Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement preclinical metabolic models with the R&D team and external collaborators to support Skye's preclinical milestones and clinical biomarker programs. 

  • Analyze and interpret emerging preclinical and clinical trial data from metabolic studies, including biomarkers, clinical pharmacology, and safety data. 

  • Create abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations for external meetings related to Skye's research and clinical programs. 

  • Support R&D's translational studies through presentations, abstracts, publications, and grant writing. 

  • Maintain expertise in metabolic research through continuous monitoring of latest developments. 

  • Present scientific findings clearly and concisely at internal and external meetings. 

 

Qualifications: 
 

  • MS degree with 5-6+ years' experience in a laboratory or clinical research setting or PhD degree with 1-2+ years' experience in a relevant scientific area (e.g., immunology, pharmacology, biochemistry, metabolic studies, or related fields).  

  • In-depth knowledge of metabolic pathways and associated research models. 

  • Strong ability to communicate scientific data effectively across functions and through presentations. 

  • Proven ability to collaborate across functions and job levels within the company and with external vendors and academic partners. 

  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills. 

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Familiarity with metabolic or immunology research is preferred. 

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Graph Pad Prism. 

 

Actual base salary for this role will take into consideration factors such as relevant experience, skills and qualifications for the role. Skye currently offers health benefits for eligible employees.
