About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Director of Revenue Accounting to lead our revenue recognition function and ensure compliance with GAAP, specifically ASC 606. This role will oversee all aspects of revenue accounting and reporting and serve as a critical business partner to cross-functional teams including Sales, Legal, Sales Operations, and FP&A. Reporting to the VP, Controller, you’ll bring deep technical accounting expertise, a passion for process improvement, and the leadership skills to scale a high-performing team.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and grow the revenue accounting function, ensuring alignment with Socure’s strategic goals and operational scale.

• Own the month-end revenue close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

• Evaluate and improve the revenue recognition and order-to-cash processes, focusing on automation, efficiency, and scalability.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors on revenue-related matters, including preparation and coordination of audit deliverables.

• Partner with Legal, Sales, and Sales Operations to provide guidance on complex deal structures, pilot programs, and contract reviews.

• Maintain and implement strong internal controls over the revenue cycle and ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards.

• Drive continuous process improvements and lead initiatives to shorten the close cycle and automate billing and revenue recognition.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA required.

• 10+ years of combined public accounting and SaaS industry experience (Big 4 background strongly preferred).

• Deep expertise in ASC 606 and software revenue recognition.

• Proven experience leading and developing high-performing accounting teams in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.

• Strong ERP system experience; NetSuite preferred.

• Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, and FP&A teams.

• History of successful external audit management.

• Demonstrated ability to streamline processes and leverage technology for scale.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
