Software Engineer - Developer Platform

New Relic builds an AI-first observability platform that provides real-time insights into software and infrastructure performance. The Developer Platform team is hiring a Software Engineer to build scalable DevSecOps tooling, infrastructure, and frameworks that help engineering teams develop, secure, and deploy software reliably.

Skills

Strong programming skills in Golang (primary) and experience with front-end JS libraries such as React
Deep understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and production scaling
Containerization experience (Docker: image optimization, multi-arch, multi-stage, BuildKit)
Kubernetes administration and deployment experience
Familiarity with security scanning tools (Trivy, Snyk, etc.) and DevSecOps practices
Experience administering developer tooling (GitHub Enterprise, Artifactory)
Comfortable delivering production code in an Agile environment and participating in on-call rotations

Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable developer platform services and frameworks to simplify deployments and increase developer productivity.
Partner with product managers, engineering managers, and peer engineers to deliver features and meet business goals.
Build DevSecOps capabilities including security scanning and integration with CI/CD pipelines.
Create and maintain infrastructure (IaC) and deployment automation to improve scalability and reliability.
Research and propose new frameworks, tools, and services to address sophisticated platform scenarios.
Collaborate in an agile environment and participate in on-call rotations to support production systems.
Promote shared code ownership and collaborate on technical decisions across teams.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Open to candidates with equivalent practical experience or nontraditional backgrounds
