Software Programmer (Remote - US)

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Software Programmer in the United States.

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Programmer to design, develop, and maintain secure, high-quality software solutions for critical defense applications. This role combines backend and frontend development responsibilities, including database management, reporting, and scripting, within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. You will work on projects supporting defense logistics and be responsible for adhering to secure coding standards and compliance frameworks. The ideal candidate thrives in a hybrid or remote setting while being available for on-site collaboration as needed. Strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail are essential to ensure the delivery of robust and reliable software. Accountabilities

  • Design, develop, and implement secure application solutions, including user interfaces and backend logic.
  • Follow secure coding best practices and Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance standards.
  • Develop and maintain code using technologies such as C#, T-SQL, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, XML, JSON, and RDL.
  • Use development tools including Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, and Azure DevOps.
  • Create and maintain database structures, reports, and system scripts to support software solutions.
  • Collaborate with technical support teams to resolve information assurance (IA) vulnerabilities.
  • Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and technical documentation efforts to ensure system reliability.
  • Support both remote and occasional on-site requirements for customer engagements.
  • Bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree, or equivalent experience in software development.
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft development tools and secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.
  • Active IT-II clearance or current NACLC at the time of application.
  • Strong skills in backend and frontend development, database management, reporting, and scripting.
  • Preferred: Experience with DoD or DLA software projects and familiarity with RMF compliance and secure coding standards.
  • Strong collaboration, documentation, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, balancing multiple tasks efficiently.
