Principal API Engineer – Platform Architecture

SonicWall is a cybersecurity leader with over 30 years of experience, dedicated to providing advanced security solutions against cyberattacks across diverse environments. They seek a Principal API Engineer skilled in API design and Go programming to architect and lead the API layer for their Zero Trust platform, while mentoring a global team of engineers and enhancing platform scalability and security.

Skills

Expertise in API design and Go programming
Experience with distributed systems and SaaS application development
Strong cloud-native secure design skills
Ability to translate business goals into technical architecture
Hands-on experience managing full API lifecycle
Leadership and mentoring capabilities within engineering teams
Familiarity with infrastructure, DevOps, and release pipelines
Excellent communication across time zones

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the API as a product for the Zero Trust platform
Collaborate on vision and implement pragmatic development plans
Ensure API security and lead secure coding practices
Maintain up-to-date API documentation
Mentor and provide leadership to offshore Go development teams
Advise on CI/CD and continuous testing practices

Education

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
