Senior Fullstack Software Engineer (Golang Focus) – Clearstory (Hybrid, Full-time)
Location: Walnut Creek, CA (3 days/week in-office)

About the Role
Clearstory is seeking a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer with strong Golang experience to help guide best practices and elevate engineering standards across the team. This role includes hands-on development, as well as coaching peers on how to write clean, maintainable, and scalable Golang code. You’ll contribute to product development across the stack and play a key role in improving backend design, performance, and reliability.
You will:

• Build fullstack product features with React (TypeScript and Node.js) and Golang

• Introduce and reinforce backend best practices across the engineering team

• Review and mentor on code structure, testing, and design patterns

• Collaborate with product and design to develop scalable, user-focused features

• Write maintainable, well-tested code and uphold quality standards

Required Experience

• 7+ years of professional software development experience

• 5+ years writing production code in Golang

• Solid experience with React and TypeScript on the frontend

• Strong understanding of REST APIs, performance tuning, and backend architecture

• Skilled in writing unit and integration tests

• Experience mentoring or coaching other engineers

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with pub/sub or event-driven architectures

• Familiarity with ETL pipelines or backend data workflows

• Exposure to SOC 2, GDPR, or CCPA compliance environments

• Prior experience in SaaS, FinTech, or ConTech industries
