GNC Software Engineer, Operations Automation

SpaceX, a leader in aerospace innovation focusing on space exploration and national security through its Starshield program, is seeking a GNC Software Engineer to develop operations automation for satellite and payload management, ensuring mission success through advanced software and space system expertise.

Skills

Proficiency in software development with C++ or Python
Experience with spacecraft system design and operations
Knowledge of automated fault detection and response systems
Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Linux operating systems
Data visualization and web development skills
Excellent written and verbal communication

Responsibilities

Design and develop high-reliability algorithms, flight software, simulations, tools, and dashboards using C++ or Python
Collaborate on defining requirements and operational concepts for flight and ground systems
Provide cross-disciplinary expertise to ensure satellite systems meet mission objectives
Lead on-orbit space vehicle operations and support on-call rotations to maintain peak performance
Drive improvements in payload/bus interfaces, fault detection, automated response, and alerting systems
Produce detailed technical documentation for programs, algorithms, and analyses
Support integration and testing of flight vehicles prior to launch

Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, aerospace, physics, or engineering
