SpaceX is pioneering space exploration technologies aiming to enable human life on Mars and is seeking a Launch Pad Engineer for Mechanical Systems to join their Cape Canaveral team. This role requires multi-disciplinary engineering skills focused on launch pad ground support equipment to ensure safe and reliable launch operations.

Skills

Expertise with finite element analysis software such as ANSYS or FEMAP
Proficiency with CAD software like Siemens NX or SOLIDWORKS
Familiarity with instrumentation and control systems components
Ability to analyze and troubleshoot mechanical hardware
Experience in data analysis including programming with Python
Strong communication and presentation skills
Knowledge of engineering codes and standards (ASME B31.3, BPV Code Section VIII)

Responsibilities

Oversee multiple mechanical systems and structures related to launch pads as the responsible engineer
Perform designs and issue resolution using FEM software and hand calculations
Direct technicians in troubleshooting, maintenance, and operational procedures
Drive continuous improvement of hardware, software, and operational methods
Conduct post-launch data reviews and contribute to functional automation
Present certification and engineering data to U.S. government agencies
Utilize NX CAD software for design and drafting tasks

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related engineering discipline
