Network Automation Engineer (Starshield) - job 1 of 2

SpaceX, a pioneer in space technology aiming to enable human life on Mars, is seeking a Network Automation Engineer to support the Starshield program enhancing national security through advanced in-space mesh networks and communication technologies.

Skills

Experience with networking protocols such as TCP/IPv4/IPv6 and traffic types including gaming, voice, video, broadcast, and streaming.
Proficiency with Linux operating system.
Automation experience with Python, Shell, Bash, or similar languages.

Responsibilities

Deploy, upgrade, operate, and scale a global networking service for government customers.
Collaborate with software engineers to build operable, maintainable infrastructure.
Monitor and improve network uptime and performance.
Act as a technical product owner for infrastructure tools and software.
Innovate with automation and operational improvements.
Mentor junior engineers.
Participate in on-call rotation.

Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or science; OR
At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in network automation, DevOps, network engineering, or site reliability engineering as a substitute for degree.
