RF Software Engineer (Starshield) - job 1 of 3

SpaceX is driving innovation to enable life on Mars, currently supporting national security through Starshield, a program leveraging Starlink technology for government use. They seek an RF Software Engineer to develop and validate RF systems for space applications in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Skills

Proficient in C/C++ and Python programming
Experience using radio test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, VSA, VSG, and network analyzers
Knowledge of RF concepts including gain, linearity, P1dB, ACLR, EVM, PAE, S-parameters
Familiarity with software design principles and testing methodologies
Experience with environmental testing equipment and troubleshooting software-hardware interactions
Proficient with Windows and Linux operating systems
Experience with configuration management and version control

Responsibilities

Drive program-level RF system design decisions
Research novel solutions for satellite RF systems
Design, build, and validate RF test benches using advanced lab equipment
Develop modular RF test infrastructure and automation in Python and C++
Collaborate with hardware, FPGA, DSP, and software engineers to validate RF systems
Create electromagnetic simulation models for hardware performance evaluation

Education

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related engineering discipline
