Security Software Engineer (Starshield)

SpaceX, a leader in aerospace innovation, is advancing Starshield, a secure government-focused network leveraging Starlink technology. They seek a Security Software Engineer to design and develop security infrastructure for cutting-edge space communication systems.

Skills

Proficiency in software development languages such as Python, C++, or Golang.
Experience with security design and implementation for operating systems and distributed or large-scale infrastructure systems.
Knowledge of applied cryptography, network, and OS security.
Familiarity with secure boot processes, incident response, adversary detection, and vulnerability research.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Design and build security infrastructure including cryptographic and security-critical services for Starshield.
Develop security features for routers, dishes, gateways, and satellites within the Starshield system.
Integrate security into factory processes and support network services related to security.
Maintain and improve existing production security systems through direct implementation and cross-team recommendations.
Prototype and test new security improvements.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related STEM field or equivalent professional experience.
