Software Engineer, Ground Stations (Starlink)

SpaceX is pioneering technologies to enable human life on Mars and is actively deploying Starlink, the world’s most advanced broadband internet system. They are seeking skilled software engineers to develop highly reliable software for a global network of ground stations to connect satellites and users.

Skills

Proficiency in C++ and Python programming languages
Experience with Linux based software development
Knowledge of networking protocols (UDP, TCP/IP)
Understanding of distributed system security
Familiarity with testing, continuous integration, build, deployment, and monitoring systems

Responsibilities

Develop highly reliable, low latency, high capacity satellite-based network software
Design and implement fault-tolerant network systems with minimal maintenance overhead
Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews
Build prototypes to validate design concepts and technical constraints
Write Linux based software for processors and microcontrollers (ARM, PowerPC, x86)
Create tools to enable frequent and reliable software deployment and testing
Develop multi-environment test tools including virtualized hardware and hardware-in-the-loop simulations

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or science discipline or equivalent professional experience
