Sr. Manager, Product & Gateway Electronics Engineering (Starlink)

SpaceX's Starlink division is revolutionizing global internet connectivity by building a massive satellite network. They are seeking a Sr. Manager for Product & Gateway Electronics Engineering to lead the design and delivery of highly reliable consumer and gateway hardware, managing a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Skills

Expertise in hardware design, especially mixed-signal circuit boards and high-speed interfaces
Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills for electronics
Proficiency with programming languages such as Python and C/C++
Experience with computer networking technologies and optical network architectures
Familiarity with Linux desktop/server and embedded OS environments
Leadership skills to guide a diverse engineering team
Strong communication abilities for technical topics across all organizational levels

Responsibilities

Manage a team of 15-20 engineers developing electronics for consumer products and gateway systems
Drive the full electrical architecture and hardware design lifecycle including specification, component selection, and board bring-up
Define and maintain project milestones aligned with cross-functional teams such as mechanical, networking, and manufacturing
Implement long-term technical strategies and contribute to product cost, performance, and reliability improvements
Recruit, develop, and mentor engineering talent ensuring high technical rigor and accountability
Build out engineering labs and manage related capital expenditures
Collaborate closely with senior leadership to influence constellation and network operations
Maintain a strong focus on safety and quality across the engineering organization

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related STEM field
