Sr. Wi-Fi Software Engineer (Starlink) - job 1 of 2

SpaceX is pioneering advanced space technologies with its Starlink broadband internet system, providing reliable internet worldwide through a vast satellite constellation. They seek a Sr. Wi-Fi Software Engineer to enhance Starlink's Wi-Fi system and improve the end-user experience.

Skills

Proficiency in C and C++ programming.
Strong knowledge of IEEE 802.11 wireless standards and networking protocols (UDP, TCP/IP).
Experience in embedded software development for networking equipment.
Familiarity with kernel-level system optimization.
Understanding of DHCP, IPv4, IPv6, Linux network stack internals, and network drivers.
Experience in continuous integration and monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

Drive the Wi-Fi software and product roadmap.
Debug and optimize kernel-level system performance.
Collaborate with RF and EE engineers to improve testing procedures for software and hardware.
Mentor software engineers and foster a positive work culture.
Improve Wi-Fi mesh network performance.
Develop tools for continuous integration, deployment, testing, and data analysis.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or STEM discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
