Wi-Fi Software Engineer (Starlink)

SpaceX is pioneering space exploration and broadband technology through its Starlink satellite internet system. The company seeks a Wi-Fi Software Engineer to enhance the Wi-Fi experience, focusing on kernel-level performance, collaboration across hardware and software teams, and deployment automation to improve global internet access.

Skills

Proficient development experience in C or C++
In-depth knowledge of IEEE 802.11 wireless standards
Experience with networking protocols such as UDP and TCP/IP
Embedded software development experience for networking equipment

Responsibilities

Drive the Wi-Fi software and product roadmap for Starlink
Debug and optimize kernel-level system performance
Collaborate with RF and EE engineers to improve software and hardware testing procedures
Mentor software engineers and contribute to a positive work culture
Enhance Wi-Fi mesh network performance
Develop new tools for continuous integration, deployment, test execution, and data analysis

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or related STEM field; or equivalent professional experience
