Saving children.®Job DescriptionThe Specialist, Strategic Ventures will be at the forefront of driving and managing the innovation process within the organization. This role is pivotal in collecting and communicating innovative ideas, conducting comprehensive research, coordinating innovation challenge activities, and maintaining strong connections with various partners to facilitate research and evaluate ideas.Essential Job Functions:Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth research and data analysis on innovation concepts, assess their potential impact, and present findings to the innovation team and executive leadership.Coordination of Enterprise Innovation Activities/Events: Plan and execute enterprise-wide innovation challenges, including organizing events, setting up evaluation criteria, and coordinating with participants.Organizational Communications: Communicate the organization’s current innovative activities, highlight incremental innovations, and showcase the efforts of various teams. Collaborate closely with the Internal Communications team and Principal Advisor, Strategic Communications to ensure effective messaging.Innovative Ideas Collection and Communication: Manage the process of collecting and maintaining a repository of innovative ideas from various sources within the organization, ensuring concepts are organized and prioritized.Connectivity with Partners: Maintain strong connections with analysts, research teams, and divisional partners to facilitate research, crowdsource ideas, and assess the feasibility of proposed innovations.Industry Innovation Research: Collaborate with research partners to stay updated on industry trends, conduct industry-specific innovation research, and communicate findings to the organization.Project Management: Oversee the project management of innovation initiatives, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational goals.Facilitate Innovation Brainstorms: Partner with the Director, Strategic Ventures to facilitate innovation brainstorms and workshops with organizational partners as needed.Education and Experience:• Bachelor’s degree required.• 1-3 years of work experience in strategic planning, innovation, or data/analytics.• Experience working in teams and managing complex projects.• Background or interest in research and data/analytics preferred.Skills:• Project Management: Basic understanding of project management principles and practices, with proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.• Critical Thinking: Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate information, connect ideas, and make reasoned decisions.• Data-Minded: Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.• Clear Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively.• Facilitation: Ability to organize and support the facilitation of meetings/workshops and lead cross-functional teams to successful outcomes.Key Attributes:• Curiosity: A natural inclination to explore, ask questions, and seek out new information.• “Figure it out” Factor: Demonstrated ability to independently identify problems and develop creative solutions.• Collaborative: Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with diverse teams.• Neutrality: Ability to remain objective and question one’s own assumptions, fostering a culture of open-mindedness and continuous improvement.• Love of Learning: A passion for continuous learning and professional development, staying updated with the latest industry trends and innovations.Benefits & PerksThe following Benefits & Perks apply to Full-Time Roles Only.We’re dedicated to ensuring children and their families have every opportunity to enjoy life’s special moments.
