Lead Digital/UI Designer

Role Overview

As the Lead Digital / UI / Website Designer, you will be the driving force behind our digital presence, responsible for crafting visually impactful and highly functional website experiences, digital interfaces, and digital assets. This senior role demands a visionary approach to digital design, combining creativity with technical expertise to deliver experiences that are not only beautiful but also intuitive and effective.

You will work closely with the Director of Design and Lead Product Designer to set the design direction for all digital projects, ensuring consistency, quality, and innovation. Initially, you will lead the full spectrum of digital design tasks, establishing the foundation for a scalable design process as our studio grows. Your leadership will be crucial in shaping our digital design capabilities and mentoring a team of designers in the future.

What you will do in first 6 months

• First mover: You will have a pivotal role in establishing a world-class design studio from the ground up.

• Design Leadership: Lead the creation of cutting-edge award-winning websites, digital interfaces, and user experiences that align with the brand’s vision and objectives. Oversee the entire design process from concept to execution.

• UI/UX Design: Design user experiences that are both visually compelling and functionally effective. You will work with the Lead Product Designer on more intensive interfaces to ensure that all digital touchpoints provide a seamless and engaging user experience.

• Website Design and Development Collaboration: Create visually striking and technically sound website designs, working closely with developers to ensure that design concepts are accurately implemented and optimised for performance.

• Creative Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the Director of Design to translate creative concepts into practical digital solutions. Provide strategic input and direction on all digital design projects.

• Responsive and Adaptive Design: Ensure that all digital designs are fully responsive and optimised for various devices, including desktop, tablet, and mobile. Focus on creating adaptive designs and systems that offer a consistent user experience across different platforms.

• Design Systems and Guidelines: Develop and maintain comprehensive design systems and guidelines to ensure consistency and efficiency across all digital products.

• User-Centred Design: Employ a user-centred design approach, using research, data, and testing to inform design decisions and create user experiences that meet both user needs and business goals.

• Innovation and Trendsetting: Be a leader in digital design trends and experimentation, technologies, and best practices, integrating new ideas and approaches into our design process.

• Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough quality checks on all digital designs, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, functionality, and brand alignment.

• Work alongside wider creative teams to design award-winning experiences

• Collaborate with top agencies around the world to guide projects in development.

• Option to work in the studio in Notting Hill, London with our Director of Design.

Must haves

• Experience: 6+ years of experience in digital, UI, and website design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in creating visually stunning and user-friendly digital experiences. Previous experience in a senior or lead design role is highly preferred.

• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Figma, Adobe CC, and understanding of front-end design principles. Familiarity with HTML/CSS and the ability to work closely with developers is essential.

• Creative Vision: A deep passion for digital design with the ability to create innovative, aesthetically pleasing, and functional digital products that stand out.

• Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring every element of the design is carefully crafted and aligned with the overall vision.

• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts clearly and effectively to both internal teams and clients.

• Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of quality and creativity.

• User-Centric Approach: Strong focus on creating user-centred designs that prioritise the needs and behaviours of the end-users, ensuring an intuitive and enjoyable user experience.

• Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing a range of high-impact digital, UI, and website designs, highlighting both visual and functional aspects.

• A constant desire to be recognised for your work and strive for top industry awards.

• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

• An understanding of web3 technologies and blockchain principles — this can be learnt.
