Sr. Engineer, Airframe and Structures Design

Supernal, an Advanced Air Mobility company developing cutting-edge electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicles, is seeking a Sr. Engineer for Airframe and Structures Design to lead design and certification efforts, ensuring safety, efficiency, and manufacturability in a collaborative, on-site environment.

Skills

Experience in airframe design and development for eVTOL or rotorcraft.
Advanced CAD proficiency (Catia, UG, Pro-E, Solidworks).
Knowledge of composite structures design and fabrication techniques.
Familiarity with additive manufacturing and advanced fabrication technologies.
Strong project management and Earned Value Management experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize independently and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

Translate preliminary and detailed requirements into comprehensive airframe design solutions.
Provide technical leadership for the airframe design engineering team.
Conduct airframe design studies and create detailed layouts and assemblies.
Oversee design progression from concept through engineering release.
Ensure designs meet production rate, weight, and certification targets.
Coordinate with systems, interiors, flight technology, and manufacturing teams.
Research and apply new materials and design concepts.
Support manufacturing in production technology development.
Create 3D part and assembly models for prototypes and production aircraft.
Establish standard methodologies for airframe design.
Represent the team during supplier interactions.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering or relevant engineering field required.
Master’s degree in relevant field preferred.
