Skills
Deep knowledge of computer architecture fundamentals, including memory hierarchy and cache coherence.
Experience with performance modeling and simulation tools like Gem5 or SimpleScalar.
Basic proficiency in hardware description languages such as Verilog or VHDL.
System programming skills in C and C++.
Proficiency in performance profiling and benchmarking methodologies.
Familiarity with parallel processing architectures and multi-core systems.
Understanding of DDR, HBM, and emerging memory technologies.
Knowledge of interconnect protocols including AXI, PCIe, or CXL.
Responsibilities
Design and optimize memory subsystems including cache hierarchies, coherence protocols, and memory controllers.
Develop high-performance interconnect architectures such as on-chip networks and chip-to-chip interfaces.
Perform simulations, modeling, and performance analyses of memory and interconnect components.
Collaborate with hardware and software teams to optimize memory access and overall system performance.
Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies related to CPU architecture, memory, and interconnects.
Document and present architectural decisions, trade-offs, and technical findings.
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
