Finance Specialist - EMEA

TOMS is in business to improve lives. When you wear or work with TOMS, you help fund access to mental health resources for the millions of people who need them. TOMS is looking for a Finance Specialist to join our TOMS EMEA Finance team in Amsterdam.

About The Role

You'll be responsible for our E-commerce, inventory, intercompany accounting, and duty. You'll assist the Finance Director with month-end close. You have the ability to take ownership of key accounting and month end functions.

What you’ll do

Ecommerce

• Regularly reconcile daily ecommerce credit card and payment provider receipts with sales in SAP

• Ensure all ecommerce SAP transactions are being recorded correctly. Develop excellent understanding of the communication between SAP and the ecommerce payment platforms

• Ensure tax categories are correctly maintained for all materials in ecommerce platform

• Ensure store credit and gift card balances are reconciled on a monthly basis

• Reconcile all payment type receivable balances on a monthly basis. Carry out investigations for any material anomalies

Inventory and Intercompany

• Verifying that automated postings of inventory are accurate and timely

• Understand and monitor the correct pricing of inventory

• Price uploads for E-com and wholesale

• Lead the physical inventory count at year end and report to management on your observations

• Reconcile intercompany balances on a monthly basis

• Own the intercompany posting process and ensure that all automatic and manual entries are being posted correctly.

Fixed Assets

• Prepare Fixed Assets ledgers and ensure monthly depreciation runs are executed correctly

• Ensure that all asset acquisitions, disposals and transfers are managed accordingly

• Ensure that Fixed Assets are tagged where possible

Month/Year End Close

• Reconcile all ecommerce, inventory and intercompany related GL accounts in line with month and year end requirements. Take ownership of these accounts and be able to discuss them at Trial Balance review

• Assist Finance Director with account reconciliations, reports and miscellaneous journal entries. Demonstrating ability to lead month close will lead to greater responsibility

• Support EMEA FP&A, external audit and HQ information requests

• Prepare balance sheet review every quarter

CBS reporting

• International services reporting

• Annual/quarter wholesale reporting

Duty and tax

• Control and reconcile VAT and duty charges in UK

• Work closely with our UK duty agency and NL warehouse about shipments to UK

Requirements:

• Associate degree or equivalent

• 2-3 years’ experience in an automated accounting environment

What you bring:

• Good working knowledge of ERP systems logic, preferably SAP

• Can readily establish relationships and effectively communicate, both verbal and written

• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Internal Controls

• Continually seek to improve and learn.

• Have a value system that is aligned with TOMS

• Strong working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel

• Process-oriented

• Team player, accurate, problem solver.

• Fluent in English
