Technology Lead SME

What we are looking for

Tripoint Solutions is seeking a Technology Lead SME to join our team.

This position requires extensive experience across major DBMS platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and Postgres both on-premises and in AWS cloud environments. The role demands expert-level experience in Architecting and Designing Databases for both on-premises and AWS cloud deployments, with a proven track record of leading database teams and managing complex systems in both environments.

Location: Prefer local to DMV, but remote is acceptable. The selected candidate must be currently located in a state supported by Tripoint Solutions corporate offices: AL, CO, DC, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, LA, MD, MI, MN, MS, NC, NJ, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, or VA.

What you bring

Experience, Education & Training: 

• 7+ Years of Related Experience
• Bachelors Degree
• Strong project management skills are essential for planning, executing, and overseeing database projects, including migrations, upgrades, and new implementations.
• Expertise in migrating databases and applications from Oracle and SQL Server to open-source platforms like Postgres is crucial, alongside proficiency in migrating databases from on-premises to AWS cloud.
• The ideal candidate should possess the capability to develop and implement strategic plans for database management and optimization, aligned with organizational goals. Skills in budget planning and management for database-related projects, as well as the ability to train and mentor team members on best practices and new technologies, are necessary.
• Adaptability to changing technology landscapes and business needs is vital, as is proficiency in documenting database architectures, processes, and best practices.
• Effective communication skills are required for collaborating with various stakeholders, including IT leads, business users, and external partners.
• Strong problem-solving skills are essential for addressing complex database issues and challenges, with expertise in database security practices, including encryption, access control, and compliance with data protection regulations.
• Proficiency in scripting languages for automation of database tasks and maintenance is expected, along with expertise in backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability

Clearance Requirements:
