Nursery/Preschool Coordinator

Primary Purpose:

To provide oversight and direction for all children 6 weeks to 5 years old, corresponding teams, and services at Turning Point Church, McDonough Campus. This position should aim to ensure that the gospel of Jesus Christ can be delivered with ease to children in an age appropriate way.

General Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to the following):

  • Serve as a primary Preschool leader for all services and kids-related services. 
  • Responsible for overseeing the preparation process for all corresponding classrooms for our services here at Turning Point Church. (i. e., weekend programming, monthly themes, etc.)
  • Assist with the coordination of all TPC Kids Dream Team gatherings and trainings to ensure that the vision and values of Turning Point Church are carried out with excellence.
  • Oversee all nursery/preschool volunteer teams, ensuring each receives the direction, training and support they need to accomplish their goals.
  • To help ensure ministry environments maintain a high level of safety, and that all volunteers are properly background checked, and that all equipment and rooms are constantly evaluated and maintained with excellence and efficiency.
  • Assist in planning and coordination of all TPC Kids related events (i.e., Christmas Eve Services, Christmas Outreach, etc..)
  • Use church database to complete monthly follow-ups/touches with families via emails, cards, or phone calls. 
  • Responsible for partnering with parents by hosting a family specific small group for parents with preschool age children.
  • Establish relationships with local schools for the purpose of creating outreach opportunities.
  • Help assist with lead and planning community outreach efforts. 
  • To coordinate with Kids Director and team to regularly evaluate and assess the effectiveness of the kids experience, hosting weekly debrief meetings and/or monthly meetings for the purpose of service enhancements or adjustments.
  • Responsible for overseeing ministry-associated budget and expenditures, helping to ensure all are stewarded and providing the greatest return for Turning Point Church to accomplish its mission and objectives.

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Church Leadership, Early Childhood Education, or a related field
  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience working directly with children in a classroom or a non-profit setting
  • 1-2 years of experience leading a staff or group of volunteers
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to lead multiple teams and projects at once
  • Embody the character, chemistry, calling and competency desired of all Turning Point Church staff/employees
