Backend Developer (Nest.js and TypeScript) - Work From Home

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Backend Developer to join our growing team. You’ll work primarily with NestJS (with a minimum of 2 years of experience) and TypeScript, alongside an array of AWS services, to build reliable, scalable applications. You’ll also work on both RESTful and GraphQL APIs. Develop and maintain backend services using NestJS and TypeScript
Build and integrate both RESTful and GraphQL APIs
Collaborate with the development team to design, build, and deploy new features and improvements
Write and execute tests using Jest to ensure high-quality, reliable code
Integrate and manage AWS services (RDS with PostgreSQL, Elastic Beanstalk, S3, SES, SQS)
Troubleshoot and debug production issues, providing efficient and effective solutions
Follow best practices for performance, security, and scalability

Required Skills & Experience

2+ years of hands-on experience with NestJS (TypeScript)
Familiarity with Node.js and Express.js
Excellent PostgreSQL skills, including database design and query optimisation
Experience writing unit and integration tests using Jest
Basic understanding of AWS services, particularly RDS (PostgreSQL), Elastic Beanstalk, S3, SES, and SQS
Excellent communication skills, with a team-first attitude
Organised, hardworking, and enthusiastic about continuous learning

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Exposure to continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
Experience with Git (version control) and Agile development practices
Understanding of RESTful and GraphQL API design and best practices
An ability to problem-solve under pressure and deliver to deadlines
