Senior Backend Developer (NodeJS)

• Architect and develop scalable server-side applications and APIs using Node.js.
• Design database schemas and manage data workflows using relational and/or noSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Build and maintain RESTful and/or GraphQL for front-end consumption.
• Optimize system performance, reliability, and security across multiple early-stage product builds.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure seamless integration between front and back-end systems.
• Support rapid prototyping for early concept validation and MVP development.
• Maintain clean, well-documented, and testable code across projects.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to establishing engineering best practices within the team.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Scienc, Software Engineering, or a related field (mandatory).
• 5+ years of professional experience as a back-end developer with a strong focus on Node.js.
• Solid experience designing and working with API (REST and/or GraphQL).
• Strong understanding of data modeling and database systems (SQL and NoSQL).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) and deployment pipelines.
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and security best practices (e.g., OAuth, JWT).
• Experience with unit testing and integration testing frameworks (e.g., Mocha, Jest).
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and contribute across multiple product lifecycles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and communication abilities.

Nice to have:

• DevOps knowledge or interest in infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform).
• Exposure to serverless computing (e.g., AWS Lambda, Vercel Functions).
• Experience with event-driven architecture or microservices.
• Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Prior experience in a venture studio or startup environment.
