Job Summary
Responsibilities
The Assistant Director conceptualizes, plans, and executes a wide range of communications materials (digital, print, and social media) that enhances current engagement efforts of the UChicago MBSAA to drive to and maintain the engagement of at least 75% of our alumni population.
Manages all UChicago MBSAA marketing and communications projects by producing and executing the Alumni Communications and Publications Plan.
Responsible for the project management and development of all communication materials related to the annual Medical Pritzker and BSD Reunions including, but not limited to, registration materials, email communications, event programs, and newsletters.
Ensures that branding and marketing language is included appropriately and consistently in alumni materials and that we are compliant with all current security rules as it pertains to mass email, web traffic, and user confidentiality.
Responsible for making sure all print projects are completed within a specified budget.
Drafts and edits/proofs articles, letters, e-mail messages, calling scripts, and proposals for UChicago MBSAA members as well as alumni prospects and donors as requested.
Directs and manages content for the UChicago MBSAA website. Populates the website with relevant material and completes updates on a timely, ongoing basis.
Drafts and produces Alumni Council and committee meeting materials including PowerPoint presentations, handouts, pre reads, post meeting communications, and minutes.
Plans, develops and disseminates information designed to keep the public informed of the organization's programs, accomplishments, or point of view, with moderate levels of guidance and direction.
Solves a range of straightforward problems, as work assignments are difficult and broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity.
Performs other related work as needed.

Education:
A bachelor’s degree or higher in not-for-profit management, public relations, marketing, advertising, business management or a relevant field.
Experience:
Professional work experience in fundraising/development and/or alumni relations – or equivalent volunteer experience.
Experience with the ability to manage details as well as develop good personal relationships with colleagues, alumni, and donors.
Preferred Competencies
Demonstrates strong computer skills including word processing, database management, and spreadsheet creation.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to maintain and treat with discretion confidential information.
High level of comfort working in a collaborative team setting.
