About the Role

SelectQuote Insurance Services is looking for a Manager Healthcare Services Accounting to join our accounting team. This role would heavily be focused on leading the Healthcare Services Division revenue accounting including Population Health initiatives and SelectRx.  In addition the Manager Healthcare Services Accounting would work directly with members of the Finance organization to ensure completeness of revenue receivables and inventory.  The Manager Healthcare Services Revenue Accounting will supervise a Revenue Accountant.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • This position has direct supervisory responsibilities. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Manage workflow direct and review work of the Revenue Senior Accountant
  • Challenge current processes and improve efficiency including working with Internal Audit on control recommendations and execution as well as operations on process improvements
  • Reconcile monthly revenue reports and prepare monthly journal entries for Healthcare Services division as well as review reconciliations and entries performed by the Revenue Accountant for all Healthcare Services entities
  • Perform necessary inventory reconciliations and related entries coordinating as necessary with Purchasing and Inventory Supervisors
  • Partner with onsite inventory managers to help direct and prioritize work in the pharmacy locations
  • Monitor inventory accounting and related system reports for completeness and accuracy of the inventory transactions
  • Review monthly results and trends and highlight any abnormalities
  • Periodically review and analysis adequacy of revenue and inventory reserves
  • Work closely with Finance on revenue forecasts and variance analysis as well as inventory costing projections
  • Participation with annual financial audit including leadership in revenue and inventory procedures
  • Implement recommendations to improve revenue accounting policies and procedures
  • Perform special projects and ad hoc analyses as needed

Skills/Abilities: 

  • Strong analytical problem solving and organizational skills
  • Proficient in accounts receivable cash and revenue and inventory cycles
  • Proficient with excel and SQL or other database and data management skills preferred
  • Works well under pressure and demonstrates the ability to appropriately prioritize issues
  • Highly detail oriented
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Dependable and flexible
  • Must be highly organized managed multiple priority tasks
  • Ability to work with executive leadership

Education and Experience:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting finance or other related fields required
  • 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience required Public Accounting and/or CPA preferred
  • 3 years of experience leading and developing high performing teams required
  • Prior Healthcare Services and/or Pharmacy Experience preferred
  • Experience with Revenue Recognition and/or Inventory experience in a pharmacy or manufacturing
  • Experience with NetSuite a plus 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Work is performed indoors with potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to office work. Could periodically travel to other office and operational sites.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
