Contractor: Front-end Web Developer

Uncommon Goods is a socially responsible company partnering with independent makers and small businesses to offer unique products. They seek a skilled Front-end Web Developer contractor proficient in Angular and modern web technologies to deliver high-quality, performant code for a six-month project with possible extension.

Skills

3+ years developing modern front-end web applications independently.
Expert-level proficiency in HTML and CSS.
Experience building single-page applications (SPAs).
Advanced knowledge of Angular including server-side rendering.
Understanding of web standards, browser compatibility, and modern browser internals.
Ability to write unit tests and self-test code.
Proficiency in consuming RESTful services using JSON.
Knowledge of Git version control.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Ability to quickly learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

Develop high-quality, readable, and bug-free code using Angular, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related technologies.
Adhere to software development lifecycles and meet project milestones.
Collaborate with technical managers and architects on multi-system changes.
Write and maintain unit tests for code reliability.
Participate in peer code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Test code thoroughly for functionality, design, regression, and performance.
Document code and maintain updated documentation.
Support production code launches and troubleshoot issues.
Engage in sprint planning and team collaboration.
Share technical expertise and assist fellow developers.
Provide occasional off-hour support as necessary.
Stay informed on business practices and anticipate technical needs.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field preferred but not required.

Benefits

Flexible work hours within business hours (9 AM - 5 PM ET or 10 AM - 6 PM ET).
Possibility of contract extension based on performance and business needs.
