As the IT Engineer, you will:
IT Infrastructure Setup & Management
Design, implement, and maintain the company’s IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and cloud platforms.
Select, procure, and set up hardware and software tools to support business needs.
Build a highly secure IT environment capable of handling sensitive data, ensuring compliance with government security standards.
Security Operations (SecOps)
Establish and enforce best practices for security operations, including endpoint protection, network security, and identity management.
Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to detect and mitigate security threats.
Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and regular audits of IT systems.
Stay current with evolving cybersecurity threats and ensure the organization is protected against them.
Create incident response plans and lead efforts to handle security breaches if they occur.
Compliance & Governance
Ensure IT systems meet government standards and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, CMMC, ISO 27001, GDPR, etc.).
Collaborate with legal and operational teams to align IT practices with contractual and regulatory obligations.
Maintain detailed documentation of IT policies, procedures, and security measures.
Systems Development
Build scalable systems to support the company’s operations (e.g., email, CRM, collaboration tools, etc.).
Integrate third-party applications and APIs for seamless operations across departments.
Develop processes for IT resource management, backups, and disaster recovery.
Technical Support
Provide hands-on support for end-users across all departments.
Troubleshoot and resolve IT-related issues promptly.
Create documentation and training materials for employees to use IT systems securely and effectively.
Strategic Planning
Collaborate with leadership to align IT initiatives with business goals.
Create a roadmap for scaling IT and security operations as the company grows.
Research and recommend new technologies to enhance productivity, security, and efficiency.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience in IT systems administration, engineering, or a similar role, with significant experience in security operations (SecOps).
Expertise in network architecture, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and cybersecurity tools and frameworks.
Deep understanding of IT security principles, including encryption, authentication, and secure software development.
Familiarity with government compliance frameworks such as NIST, SOC2, CMMC, and ISO 27001.
Experience implementing endpoint protection, firewalls, SIEM solutions, and other security tools.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred:
Experience working in startups or small companies.
Familiarity with SaaS tools, automation, and DevOps practices.
Knowledge of secure software development practices (e.g., code review, secure coding standards).
Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent are highly desirable.
