Summary of Job Responsibilities:
The Assistant Professor on the clinical educator track is primarily responsible for providing high quality medical care to patients with endocrine diseases. The incumbent conducts examinations, assesses and evaluates symptoms, determines conditions, and prescribes medical treatment or services.
Outline of additional responsibilities included but are not limited to:
Provide outpatient and inpatient care to patients at University of Miami Health System and Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Engage in training of Endocrinology fellows, residents, and medical students.
Oversees mid-level medical staff as assigned as well as nursing clinical staff.
Qualifications:
MD Degree and ACGME US Internal Medicine Internship and Residency
Completed 3-year ACGME US Endocrinology Fellowship
Valid American Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology (or board eligible)
Valid unrestricted Florida Medical License or eligible to apply (must have license prior to credentialing)
Valid DEA licensure
Current ACLS and BLS certification required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques.
Must maintain CME to meet institutional and state licensing requirements
Must have excellent clinical knowledge and experience to provide safe and quality care to patients and meet institutional standards of care
Current BLS certification required. ACLS (if applicable).
Valid DEA licensure
