Salary Range: $76,280 to $95,350

 

The University of St. Thomas has provided a salary range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The specific salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.

 

JOB SUMMARY

The senior director of graduate programs is responsible for the overall performance of all flexible, open enrollment graduate programs in the Opus College of Business as measured by enrollment, academic and co-curricular programming success, student retention and overall student satisfaction. In partnership with the program’s faculty lead, graduate students services team members, associate and assistant deans, department chairs and shared services team members, the senior director sets program-level strategies and goals, leads the implementation of key initiatives, and manages innovation and continuous improvement efforts. The senior director manages student services team members to ensure student experiences and support resources are consistent with the highest quality graduate education. The senior director engages regularly with shared services staff in marketing, admissions & recruiting, academic operations, instructional innovation, and external relations to achieve program outcomes. The senior director partners with the faculty leads, other program directors, the dean’s team, and faculty to ensure that the academic offering is current, relevant, competitive, and consistent with an AACSB-accredited institution.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Program leadership: Sets program-level strategies and goals, leads the implementation of key initiatives, and manages innovation and continuous improvement efforts including implementing new programs and program redesigns. Maintains overall responsibility for enrollment goals and student satisfaction. Consistently evaluates programs and courses for future opportunities and improvement, monitoring instructional quality and stewarding curricular changes in partnership with the faculty.
  • Corporate and Alumni Engagement: Create strategy for building and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders including corporate partners, affinity groups, professional organizations and educational institutions. Collaborate closely with various partners, including college leadership, alumni groups, university advancement, Executive Education, and career services to align external engagement efforts with organizational objectives.
  • Team management: Drives program delivery and development through engagement with student services team as well as shared-service representatives from marketing, admissions and recruiting, academic operations, academic departments, instructional transformation, external relations, alumni relations, and career services. Works with team leads in each area to assign projects and maintain superior customer service.  
  • Program advocacy: Advocates for and represents the programs with internal and external audiences by virtue of admissions and recruiting events, committees, external relations, corporate outreach, reporting, etc.
  • Financial management: Working with the Senior Director, Finance and Operations to develop and submit annual financial plans to and manages expenses for each program.
  • Program marketing: Works with College leadership and the admissions and marketing teams to identify target applicants/students, provide comprehensive information on student demographic, preferences and behaviors, assist in development of marketing strategies, and provide feedback on effectiveness of initiatives.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

    • Seven years of program administration experience

    Preferred Qualifications

    • A master’s degree

    • Relevant professional experience in higher education administration.
