Senior Software Engineer, Distributed Systems

Verse is a high-growth startup focused on transforming clean energy adoption through its AI-powered platform, Aria. They seek a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in distributed systems to develop scalable cloud-native backend services and influence architectural decisions, supporting their mission to drive sustainability and energy market innovation.

Skills

Proficiency in Go and Python programming languages
Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture
Experience managing container orchestration, especially Kubernetes
Knowledge of networking, security fundamentals, and service-oriented architectures
Familiarity with mono-repository build configurations and workflows
Technical leadership and ability to deliver high-quality software on schedule

Responsibilities

Develop, test, maintain, and scale backend services and APIs using Go, Python, and Protobuf
Design and evolve database models, migrate schemas, and optimize queries across multiple product work streams
Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and frontend engineers to ensure alignment of user requirements and data integrity
Improve system performance, reliability, and security in response to evolving business needs
Participate in code reviews and maintain technical documentation adhering to best practices
Support platform and infrastructure development including deployment automation and observability tools
Foster a culture of well-designed systems and transparent communication with stakeholders

Education

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related STEM field (preferred)
