Staff Software Engineer, Distributed Systems

Verse is a high-growth startup focused on transforming clean energy through an AI-powered platform, seeking a Staff Software Engineer specialized in distributed systems to build scalable backend services and influence architectural decisions.

Skills

Expertise in Go and Python programming languages.
Deep understanding of distributed systems architecture.
Container orchestration and microservices management experience.
Knowledge of service-oriented architectures, networking, and security.
Experience with mono-repository build configurations and workflows.
Technical leadership and high-quality software delivery focus.

Responsibilities

Foster a culture of well-designed systems, test-driven software, and transparent communication.
Develop backend services and APIs using Go, Python, and Protobuf with precise data alignment.
Design and implement critical application interfaces and database schema changes.
Manage and scale queries and data operations across structured and unstructured data.
Enhance system performance, reliability, and security for evolving business needs.
Collaborate with product, UX, and frontend teams to ensure comprehensive solutions.
Contribute to platform infrastructure including deployment automation and monitoring.
Engage in code reviews, maintain documentation, and follow best software development practices.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related STEM fields preferred.
