Job Description

  • Located in Ashburn office, Director, Secure Access and Enforcement will play a critical role in overseeing the daily operations of the cybersecurity team of 8-12 members supporting a global mission. This role involves leading a team that operates and maintains the Visa enterprise Secure Access Service Edge capability including the Cloud Access Security Broker, OpenDNS, DLP solutions and other related components. The position reports to the Senior Director, Cyber Operations & Discovery and requires hands-on involvement during problem identification and resolution activities. It demands a blend of technical expertise and leadership capabilities to ensure the security of Visa's on-prem and cloud environments as well as managing and mentoring a team of cybersecurity analysts.

  • Essential Functions:

  • Manage and mentor a team of cybersecurity analysts, providing technical guidance and professional development.

  • Provides guidance to less-experienced team members. Review and evaluate incidents worked by team members to ensure we adhere to standard procedures and quality entries to the incidents.

  • Drives innovations within the team.

  • Participate and drive strategic initiatives.

  • Provide in-depth technical direction and support for operational security issues.

  • Support troubleshooting and resolving issues related to SASE capabilities (e.g. Palo Alto Network’s Prisma and Zscalar).

  • Provide technical guidance in developing Standard Operating Procedures for technical efforts in security related operational areas.

  • Oversee the monitoring, analysis, and resolution of incidents and trouble tickets associated with SASE systems, and tools issues for its team.

  • Ensure team compliance with established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to guarantee timely responses.

  • Lead, support, or contribute to incident bridges stewardship for timely resolution of internal issues.

  • Prioritize and handle escalations from within the team and other cybersecurity service lanes.

  • Analyze and report operational security key performance and risk metrics to drive program improvements.

  • Propose automation ideas to gain efficiency and improve processes.

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Consistently demonstrate Visa leadership principles.

  • Maintain and achieve new technical skills for respective team.

  • This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
•10+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 13+ years of
relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:
•12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of
experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years
of work experience with a PhD
•Work experience as a Network/Security Operations manager or team leader of
8-12 members.
•Understanding of network monitoring concepts and management tools.
•Network Security: In-depth understanding of firewalls, VPNs, secure web
gateways, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
•SASE Technologies: Familiarity with SASE platforms and technologies,
including SD-WAN, CASB, and secure web gateways
•Cloud Services: Experience with cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Azure,
Google Cloud) and cloud security practices.
•Identity and Access Management (IAM): Experience with IAM solutions and
practices.
•Demonstrated knowledge of native cloud-based security monitoring tools.
•Zero Trust Architecture: Knowledge of Zero Trust principles and
implementation.
Managerial and Leadership Skills
•Team Management: Proven experience in managing and leading technical
teams, including hiring, training, and performance management.
•Project Management: Ability to manage projects, set priorities, and meet
deadlines.
•Strategic Planning: Experience in developing and executing security strategies
and roadmaps.
•Communication: Strong communication skills for interacting with team
members, other departments, and stakeholders.
•Decision-Making: Ability to make informed decisions under pressure and in
complex situations.
Industry-Specific Experience
•Compliance and Regulations: Knowledge of industry-specific compliance
requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
•Incident Response: Experience in managing security incidents and response
strategies.
•Risk Management: Understanding of risk assessment and mitigation
strategies.
•Continuous Improvement: Experience in implementing continuous
improvement processes and staying updated with emerging threats and
technologies.
•Certifications: Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or equivalent can be
beneficial.
•Education: A degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related
field is often preferred.
•Collaboration: Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with various teams
within the organization.
•Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Familiarity with payment transaction message flows and the various types of
exceptions that could result in client impacts such as message delivery
outages, theft, or fraud.
•Background, experience, or skills of Power BI platform and reporting.
•Adaptability: Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technology and security
landscapes.
•Collaboration: Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with various teams
within the organization.
•Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 188,200.00 to 273,050.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
