As a Caregiver, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate care, support, and assistance in activities of daily living to our individuals. Responsibilities:
- Provides direct care for individuals with disabilities and provides the highest quality of care; Vista Care is synonymous with BEST CARE.
- Covering multiple programs in an assigned region to ensure appropriate coverage and the highest quality care for individuals supported
- Assist individuals supported in maintaining a safe and healthy lifestyle and monitor them for any changes in their health, behavior, appearance and/or patterns of activity; document and escalate these changes with leadership
- Treat individuals supported with dignity and respect at all times; provide them opportunities to build relationships with families and friends
- Act as an advocate for the individual supported and ensure that they are treated in accordance with all Vista Care policies and procedures at all times
- Perform personal cares, including assisting with personal hygiene, assistance and appointments, medication administration and related tasks
- Assist with meal preparation, including shopping for groceries, preparing and/or serving meals, assisting individuals eat (as necessary) and cleaning up
- Foster positive relationships with individuals supported, guardians, fellow staff and Vista Care leadership
- Responsible for thorough and accurate documentation in all systems occur, including but not related to: health tracking, GERS/Incident Reports, T-Logs, personal hygiene, vitals and time tracking, overnight call circle, secure communications (Scomm), behavior data, safety data, fall data, seizure data, etc., medication administration records and the daily activity calendar
- Performs light housekeeping, including, but not limited to: laundry, bed-making, and cleaning
- Ensure the safety of individuals supported, themselves and fellow staff members
- Transport individuals supported to scheduled appointments, activities, on errands, to any jobs that they may hold and for personal appointments; also accompany individuals supported as necessary
- Assist individuals supported with planning and participating in meaningful community, recreational activities, learning opportunities, household chores, physical fitness activities and money management
- High school diploma or equivalent (higher education in a related field is a plus).
- Previous experience in caregiving, healthcare, or related roles is preferred but not needed.
- Knowledge of mental and intellectual disabilities and a willingness to learn.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with individuals and their families.
- Patience, empathy, and a compassionate approach to caregiving.
- Ability to follow directions, work independently, and make responsible decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Flexibility in scheduling, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)

Pay
- Starting at $16.00 on weekdays
- Starting at $24.00 on Weekends! (Time and a half of weekday hourly rate.)
- Average starting pay rate of $18!
- Daily pay program available!
Physical Demands
- Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques
- Perform tasks that involve bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching for accessing spaces and performing ground-level activities
- Walk, stand, and engage in continuous physical activities during cleaning, maintenance, and outdoor tasks
