Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, and implement advanced demand forecasting models using statistical methods and machine learning algorithms.
  • Create and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to visualize forecast accuracy and key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Integrate multiple data sources to create a comprehensive view of demand signals and supply chain performance.
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes to ensure data accuracy and timeliness.
  • Conduct regular analysis of forecast accuracy and provide insights for continuous improvement.
  • Stay current with emerging trends in demand forecasting, machine learning, and business intelligence technologies.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other team members on forecasting methodologies and BI tool usage.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure proper data governance, security, and system integration.
  • Participate in CoE initiatives to promote best practices in demand forecasting across the organization.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Supply Chain Management, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or related field, with a focus on supply chain and demand forecasting
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, R)
  • Expertise in BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView
  • Experience with statistical analysis and machine learning techniques for forecasting.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain processes and demand planning principles
  • Familiarity with Oracle TMS systems and supply chain software (e.g., SAP, Oracle)

SKILLS:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Compensation & Benefits Details

  • An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
  • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York.  This range may be modified in the future.
  • You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance.  Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan. Please note that not all roles are eligible to participate in the LTI program, and not all roles are eligible for equity under the LTI plan. RSU awards are also available to eligible new hires, subject to Western Digital’s Standard Terms and Conditions for Restricted Stock Unit Awards.
