Wholesale Manager-Workers Comp

Integrated Specialty Coverages (ISC) is a growth-stage, technology- and data-driven commercial insurance wholesaler backed by private equity. ISC seeks a hands-on Wholesale Workers Comp Manager to lead its Workers Compensation wholesale division focused on small-market construction accounts, manage a team of brokers, drive placement and service delivery, and partner with carriers and retail agents to achieve production and financial targets.

Skills

  • Deep knowledge of Workers Compensation insurance and underwriting
  • Active P&C Broker License
  • Proven team leadership, coaching, and performance management
  • Strong carrier relationship development and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and agency management systems
  • Experience with account placement, submissions, and policy review
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload in a remote setting
  • Familiarity with financial and operational KPI reporting

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of brokers and support staff to meet production and service goals
  • Assign and oversee account workloads (up to ~40 accounts/week ranging $1K–$200K premium)
  • Oversee new business solicitation, renewals, market submissions, and quote cover letters
  • Negotiate terms with carriers and maintain daily communication with underwriters and retail agents
  • Review policies and documentation for accuracy, compliance, and completeness
  • Handle escalated client service issues and coordinate cross-functional resolution with accounting and claims
  • Prepare and deliver regular executive reporting on financial performance, KPIs, and market trends
  • Ensure licensing, internal controls, and regulatory compliance across the team
  • Manage internal system updates, file management, and administrative workflows
  • Collaborate with other ISC business units and act as primary liaison with carrier partners

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, or related field (required)
