Data Scientist II

Xometry is a public company that connects innovative ideas to manufacturing capabilities through its digital marketplace. They are seeking a Data Scientist II to develop and optimize predictive models using machine learning and statistical methods to support business decisions within the sourcing team.

Skills

Proficient in machine learning, statistical modeling, and optimization techniques
Fluent in Python including pandas, numpy, SciPy, and scikit-learn
Strong knowledge of linear algebra and statistics
Familiarity with scientific software best practices including versioning and reproducibility
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS
Ability to query and work with Snowflake database

Responsibilities

Develop effective predictive models using data science and machine learning principles
Write software to prepare, clean, and sample data for model development
Utilize cloud resources such as AWS to process and prepare data
Query and extract data from Snowflake databases
Analyze and visualize data using SQL, Python, Jupyter Notebooks, and Looker
Iterate rapidly on solutions in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment
Solve complex, uncharted problems collaboratively within a team

Education

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in applied math, computer science, natural sciences or engineering
Master’s or Ph.D. preferred in related fields
