Seeking a term Lecturer in Computer Science & Information Systems to teach various undergraduate and graduate courses online and in-person at Youngstown State University. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, excellent communication skills, and experience in software engineering-related subjects.
Responsibilities: Teach lower and upper division courses, design and develop online courses, provide student advisement, and engage in program assessments and continuous course development.
Skills: Expertise in computer science and information technology, strong teaching abilities, communication skills, and experience in software engineering and programming languages (Python, C/C++, Java).
Qualifications: Master's degree in a related field with at least one year of teaching experience; Ph.D. preferred.

Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation ranges for this position are between $55,000 - $85,000.
The School of Computer Science, Information, & Engineering Technology offers bachelor's degrees in information technology and computer science, as well as the rapidly growing master's degree in computing and information systems.
The successful candidate will teach various courses, encompassing both lower and upper division levels, delivered both online and in-person. They should possess the ability and experience to teach software engineering-related courses, such as software engineering, software security, software testing, project and process management, software architecture and design, software development life cycle, and/or programming-related courses in multiple languages, including Python, C/C++, and Java, across a wide range of proficiency levels from beginner to advanced. The candidate should also demonstrate the ability, experience, or desire to actively participate in the design and development of online courses.
Candidates are expected to have passion for teaching, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and enthusiasm for developing new courses and programs. Additional services will include student advisement, program assessment initiatives, and continuous course and program development and revision.
Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Minimum Qualifications: At least a m aster's degree in computer science, information technology, computing and information sciences or a computing-related area; one or more years of experience teaching courses in computer science, information technology, computing and information sciences, or other closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in computer science, information technology, computing and information sciences, or other closely related field.
