I didnβt have experience but I volunteered to do admin stuff for a local nonprofit. Put that on my resume, and it got me a remote admin assistant job
Absolutely. All my internships were remote and my first two jobs are both remote. It's just the same as any other job acquisition. I got the internships by writing letters and then got promoted to other internships while on the job. For the FTE ones I got one from a former internship and the other via an informational interview. I asked the what are your top 3 problems right now and the person answered their top issue was they were drowning and needed an Assistant. I was hired within the day as a Remote EA. It did help that we had a huge amount of people in common (I interned at a company he interned in and then he was a former Assistant to my old boss' boss.
Do whatever you can to get some experience on the resume, even if it is not paid. Internships are your friend and provide fantastic networking opportunities.
Honestly?
Applied to everything. No shame. Got ghosted 99 times but one said yes. Entry-level remote jobs exist Upwork, Fivver Contra etc, you just have to shotgun your resume everywher
My first remote gig was transcribing audio. Super low barrier to entry. Crap pay at first, but it got me something to put on my resume.

I did. I started with freelance writing gigs on Upwork. Paid garbage at first, but got reviews, raised rates, and now have steady remote clients π
Yeah, I got my first remote customer support job with no experience. I just emphasized being reliable and good with people. Applied to like 50 places before I got one though...
Wow! These responses all point to: just keep at it and never sell yourself short! π

Not gonna lie, I faked confidence in my interview and said βIβm a fast learner.β they gave me a shot as a remote scheduler. You gotta sell your attitude

Been trying forever with no luck, but my friend got into remote customer support. His company didnβt care much about experience
I got hired to do social media for a small brand. Had no actual experience but made a fake portfolio from memes and old IG captions I wrote π it worked
