I do both LOL. I bulk apply to everything even remotely relevant, then pick a few I actually really want and tailor for those. Works better than just picking one strategy.
Eh, partially true. ATS matters but humans still read resumes. I just make sure mine has the big keywords so it passes the scan, then focus on making it readable for an actual person
I do a light optimization. I keep a master resume with everything I’ve done, then tweak the wording per job
Semi-real. It’s not about matching exactly, but using the right buzzwords. The JD is literally your cheat sheet
t depends on the company. Startups might actually read it. Big corporations? ATS all the way. Keywords help you get seen
Yeah, I tailor my resume for every app. Doesn’t mean copy-pasting the JD, but I match phrases and skills they mention. It works. I also use ChatGpt ofc haha
It’s real-ish. Big companies with ATS (applicant tracking systems) do keyword scans. doesn’t have to be exact but u want the same general language
Most resumes never hit a recruiter’s desk. It’s all AI filters now. Gotta play the kw game if you want a shot
use the job description like it’s a cheat sheet. mirror their language, even if it feels robotic
I started treating JDs like a checklist. if they say “cross-functional teams,” that phrase goes right in. makes a difference tbh
I optimize AND still get ghosted 😂 but when I stopped optimizing I didn’t get anything soooo yeah
I literally have 5 versions of my resume for different types of roles. it’s annoying but necessary
I used to send one generic resume everywhere = 0 replies. now I tailor for every app, takes longer but actually works
those bots don’t play. if your resume doesn’t scream the right keywords, it’s getting filtered out before a human ever sees it
not a myth lol. I started copy-pasting exact phrases from the JD and finally started getting interviews 🤷♀️
I’ve heard resumes get tossed if they don’t match the JD exactly. is that real or recruiter myth?
