But at least you’ll know you did everything u could. Better than sitting around spiraling and wondering “what if”
If it’s a real medical/stress-trigger thing, a light mention makes sense. not as an excuse, just context. They might actually appreciate the transparency
short n sweet. like “thanks again for your time, sorry about the hiccups, they hit at the worst time lol, but I’m genuinely excited about the role.” don’t over-apologize tho!
I bet it felt WAY worse to you than it actually was. hiccups are annoying, yeah, but they don’t erase all the good parts of the convo
Honestly I’d def follow up. not to over-explain, just to thank them again + lightly acknowledge it. They’re human too
I’m still sick over this. I’ve applied to literally over 250 companies. so many rejections. ghostings. nothing. finally got a final-round interview at a place I’d be genuinely excited to work at. this was my one shot.
the call was going great… until I got hiccups. not just little ones. like full-blown, disruptive, can’t-get-a-full-sentence-out hiccups. right during my one-on-one with the SVP. it was so bad, I apologized like 3 times, tried to keep going, but it threw everything off. I could tell it derailed the vibe.
here’s the thing: I’ve had this happen under stress before. it’s not just nerves. it’s almost like a mild medical thing. should I follow up with an email and explain that? or is that just going to come off weird and desperate? I don’t want to make excuses, but this was my only final interview in MONTHS and I can’t believe it went down like this. what would you do???
