Senior Database Reliability Engineer
Mercury is seeking a Senior Database Reliability Engineer to guide product engineers towards maximizing performance, efficiency, and reliability in their use of PostgreSQL.
Skills
- 5 years of PostgreSQL administration
- Experience with managed database offerings
- Infrastructure-as-Code tooling experience
- Deep query optimization with PostgreSQL
- Knowledge of combining PostgreSQL with other data systems
- Scripting language proficiency (e.g. Python)
Responsibilities
- Guide product engineers on performance improvements
- Automate processes to reduce bottlenecks
- Drive database upgrades and migrations
- Collect and present database metrics for scaling discussions
- Educate product engineers on data consistency and performance
- Make code and infrastructure changes for better database interactions
