Job Description

AECOM is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to support the East Region Water Business Line (WBL) in our pursuit and delivery of public sector resiliency services. The successful candidate will advise on public sector engagement strategies and drive the development of technical engineering solutions throughout AECOM's East Region. Key areas of technical expertise being sought in this role include water resources engineering, flood hazard mapping and flood risk assessment. The successful candidate will work with leadership as well as on-the-ground teams in the pursuit and delivery of local, state, and national resiliency services.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Lead and manage water resources projects and programs which have high levels of execution complexity and significant strategic value.

· Provide client-focused teams with technical advice, leadership and strategic direction.

· Drive innovation in program management approaches and methodology to achieve marketplace differentiation.

· Work with Leadership, Client Account Managers and Market Sector Leaders to develop and cultivate client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and develop solutions to address them.

· Identify areas of high risk and pro-actively takes actions to positively impact program outcomes.

· Assess long-term and disruptive trends in the marketplace, and propose skill development approaches and workforce planning to deliver capabilities for the future.

· Actively support the attraction and retention of talent across area of expertise.

· Champion ethical and safe working practices.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS in Engineering or closely related technical degree
  •  Minimum 10 years experience in Water Resources Engineering, of working and understanding the disaster resiliency market including clients, current and future agency/government issues and planning, and competitive landscape
  •  Demonstrated and proven experience in program management, leading multi-disciplinary teams, and solution delivery for complex organizations.
  •  Ability and desire to work with and mentor key employees.
  •  Position may require travel on an as-needed basis.
  •  Effective communication skills – verbal and written.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  20+ years' experience of working and understanding flood hazard and risk assessment.
  •  Understanding of water resources engineering market at local, state, and national levels, current agency / government issues, and competitive successful strategies for major projects and programs.
  •  Professional Engineering License
  •  Demonstrated exemplary leadership attributes that provide role modelling for others.
  •  Ability to build consensus to change program strategy in challenging situations.
  •  Fluent in Spanish
