Job Description

AECOM is seeking a candidate for the position of Senior Bridge Design Project Engineer V - Rail Bridge Lead in the growing Transportation Engineering Group in Chicago, Illinois. 

Specifics of the role include:

  • Coordinates and provides technical expertise for mid- large-size projects.
  • Strong emphasis on railway bridge design and deliveries.
  • Leads technical client relationships and plays a major role in selling.
  • Leads discipline department efforts to grow technical expertise.
  • Leads technical business development work.
  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
  • Approves and signs off on work.
  • Leader in one or more areas of technology.
  • Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule a to meet requirements on large, complex projects.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Ability to pass MVR check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 + years' experience in bridge design.
  • Extensive project design experience with railway system bridges and related structures
  • Project management skills
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, including technical report writing.
  • Structural problem analysis skills (including knowledge/use of design and calculation tools, software)
  • Knowledgeable of standard engineering practices, techniques and applicable Codes.
  • Knowledge of current structural modeling software tools
  • A current PE license.SE License highly preferred.

Additional Information

  • AECOM is interested in every qualified candidate eligible to work in the United States. Permanent residency sponsorship.is available for current H1-B work vise holders in the United States.

  • Offered rate of compensation (Chicago, ILL. area only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $220,000.00.
