Job Description

AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Manager with a passion for water, wastewater conveyance, treatment plant evaluation, design, and construction.   The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate an established career serving as a client-facing project manager on regional and municipal water and wastewater treatment projects.   This position offers a unique opportunity to immediately contribute to an established and successful water practice in the Greater Hartford, Connecticut area working on a diverse range of technically challenging water projects.  

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead multi-discipline and complex water and wastewater design projects from the planning through permitting and construction phases, including alternative delivery projects.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients with multiple projects.
  • Develop and mentor mid-level and junior staff.
  • Have decision-making authority and direct others in recognizing risk and uncertainty with plans to mitigate and eliminate such.
  • Deliver revenues assigned from specific clients as a result of repeat business.
  • Lead business development activities, including pursuing new clients and projects and serving as leader of proposal efforts.
  • Actively participate in water and wastewater organizations through presentations at conferences and volunteering.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering with 6+ years of related experience in water and/or wastewater treatment, pumping and collection systems.
  • Registered Professional Engineer 
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records Review.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of related experience in water/wastewater consulting and engineering management.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in CT or ability to obtain within 1 year.
  • Previous experience leading business development activities.
  • Previous water and/or wastewater treatment, pumping stations, collection systems and client relations experience.

Additional Information

  • This position requires travel within CT and nearby states.
  • Relocation is available for this position.
